Almost Time...

Last summer, I remember it clearly, a few of us were lying on the beach together, pouring over the final Harry Potter, enjoying the white sandy beaches and listening to the sounds of children and waves splashing on the shore. We had all gotten together for the weekend, visiting Emily while she was working at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton, when a discussion arose. I'm not sure who exactly started the conversation, but the idea of us traveling to Europe during the summer was brought up. When an opportunity like that presents itself to me, I don't take it lightly. I jumped on the idea, and thus began this incredible adventure that we are about to embark on.

I cannot believe that after months, almost a year of planning and anticipating, the time has finally come. In about 48 hours I will be landing in the City of Lights wearing my rose-colored glasses. I cannot began to explain nor contain my excitement.

I have set off on several adventures on my own before, all on my own. The goodbyes at the airport were very difficult, for my parents as well. This time though, I go with friends. I will be surrounded by their enthusiasm, high spirits and laughter. I can already feel a difference... I cannot wait to for this trip of a lifetime!

Thank you for reading, I will do my best to keep up with this blog as often as I can! Have a wonderful June!
